The Journal of the Living History Society of Minnesota

The Spray of the Falls is the quarterly Journal of the Living History Society of Minnesota, Inc. Each issue contains articles of interest to students of the mid-19th century pertaining to, but not restricted to, the Civil War era in the United States, including original articles, reports of past events, photographs of group activities, original artwork, announcements and research notes, a gossip column (the Whispers of the Waters), and other bits and pieces of information about and for members of the Living History Society of Minnesota, Inc.

The Spray of the Falls is available to members of the Society and non-members alike. For members, the subscription is included with your membership dues; a yearly subscription for non-members is $20. Back issues are available for a modest fee of $7.00, which includes reprinting and shipping costs. If you would like a copy of a previous issue, please include the volume and issue number in your request, along with your check made out to the "Living History Society of Minnesota, Inc." Submissions Policy

Submissions of original and reprintable (i.e., without copyright restriction) articles; book, film, and CD reviews; quotations from the period; print and online resources; event photographs; copyright-free artwork; announcements; gossip, &c., are accepted via e-mail. Submissions should be sent to the Editor at editor@lhsmn.org. Submissions will be edited for format, readability, and length, and inclusion in future issues is not guaranteed. Submissions will be published based on issue themes, available space, and the appropriateness and timeliness of submissions.
